二元期权是一种不算新鲜的新型金融交易品种，英文称为“Binary Options”，其最早源自美国。2008年5月和7月，成为美国证券交易委员会（AMEX）和芝加哥期权交易所（CBOE）的交易品种。 二元期权可以选择股票、指数、外汇、商品期货作为标的资产，进行期权投资。二元期权只需要选择看涨期权和看跌期权来决定盈亏。不过由于涉及保证金交易，杠杆比例高，故投资的风险也极大，有时候收益能高达60%～80%，当然亏损时，损失率也是同样的。
