A group of major U.S. investors, including Oracle, Silver Lake, and Andreessen Horowitz, is set to acquire a controlling stake in TikTok’s U.S. operations, reducing Chinese parent company ByteDance’s ownership to under 20%. As part of the agreement, Oracle will oversee all U.S. user data through a secure data center in Texas, while a new U.S.-only version of TikTok will be developed to meet national security requirements.
