
Seeing the latest update from the Singapore Police – 250 people under investigation as fraudsters or money mules. I think one point isn’t talked about enough:
👉 Scams can’t work at scale without “normal people” lending their bank accounts and phone numbers.
From a professional and legal perspective, this is extremely serious. If you allow someone to use your account “just to receive and pass on funds” or to “help process payments” for a small commission, you’re not doing a harmless favour – you’re potentially involved in fraud, money laundering and unlicensed payment services.
My advice is very clear:

Never lend out your bank account, e-wallet or SIM, even to “friends of friends”.

Any side job that asks you to receive and forward money is a red flag.

If you think you’ve been approached to act as a mule, stop immediately and speak to your bank or the authorities.
Protecting yourself isn’t just about avoiding losses – it’s about making sure you don’t end up on the wrong side of an investigation.
